We are open for business today. Come stop by the sugar house and meet the owner, Andrew Thibeault. There is an active boil going on right now and there is a limited supply of Pure Maine Maple Syrup available for sale.
There has been a steady stream of visitors today which is really exciting to see. Andrew and the rest of us are so proud of Andrew's hobby. Please stop by and see the progression he has made over the few short years.
Open 10 to 5 p.m. today but the boil will be going longer than 5.

Closed for the season........
Well Andrew had a good run this year. He had everything rebuilt so there was a learning curve to get over again, but he did it! He was able to process 10 to 15 gallons of that Maple Gold!!! Next year we will hopefully be participating in the Maple Sunday program. We need to get a few permits from the state and fix a few things around the sugar house but we should be good to go......
Thank you to all who support Andrew in what he does in running his 'Red Door Sugar Shack'.

Another season passed...
2013 sugar season is complete, well almost; Andrew still needs to complete the final bottling. Buckets need to be collected, washed, and stored. He ended up getting 15+/- gallons from all the sap he/ we boiled. It was a great year, especially with the new sugar house!!!

A Beautiful Spring Day.......
Today is a beautiful spring day. I (Tom) have fired up the evaporator and have about 200 gallon of sap that needs to be processed. Looking at the weather this morning it looks like the maple sugar season may be coming to an end. I'd like to squeeze about another two weeks out of it but my herb garden wants to start growing. Oh well, that's another blog......

Time is running out....
We probably have one or two more chances to do a boil. If you're interested in seeing how it's done come on by the Red Door Sugar Shack it is ALWAYS open. Come see, come taste, it's like watching paint dry but MUCH more fun and tastier!!!
Season is winding down......
Beautiful sunny day today, temps are suppose to be in the 50's and there is a slight spring breeze to dry everything out. The sap buckets are overflowing and need to be collected. Andrew and I boiled 75 gallons last night and 75+ the night before.
Andrew has several gallons sitting on the counter waiting to be finished and bottled. What a great season he had this year. New sugar house, rebuilt evaporator that is much more efficient, and great friends who helped him put it all together.
